Hello folks, long time, no writing, but not as long as the last time, anyway. I hope all of you had a wondermous Christmas, and may this new year be the best one ever! (Until the next one, that is.)
Lot's of happenings at church this holiday season. We had something planned up until the Sunday before Christmas, starting right before Thanksgiving. It began with a praise song service followed by a harvest supper. I sang in that service, to the best of my ability, which is not saying much. Anyway, the next Sunday was a Hanging of the Greens service, and the following week was the adult's Christmas play. I was in that one, playing a death angel (who's really not a bad guy). Then the next Sunday brought us the children's Christmas play, followed by food and Santa. Finally, there was the Christmas Candlelight service, in which I yet again sang. For some reason, people want me to sing. I don't get it, because I'm not hearing anything worth listening to.
But I digress (that sounds so stupid to me).
Christmas was a nice day. The whole family got together to eat and exchange presents. Although technically this wasn't Aiden's first Christmas, it was the first one where we could enjoy his crazy antics as he played with his presents. My mom and dad got him a little toy electric guitar that would play different songs when buttons on the neck were pressed. It also made sounds if you pulled the strings or pulled the whammy bar. He seemed to enjoy that the most. I got something totally unexpected: a cell phone. Nothing fancy, just a little phone with a prepaid plan to help keep in touch when I'm out. I have it mostly so my mom won't have to worry about me. :^) Anyway, that was a nice surprise.
Now 2009 looms, or is here already depending on when you see this. It's about ten minutes to the new year as I write this. Like I said before, may this new year be your best year yet, and may God shine brightly in your hearts each and every day.
Cheers!
